One of the best things that a person can do for the interior beauty of their home or office is to add lush plants to every room. B.B. Barns has a great selection of tropical plants perfect for any indoor location. With so many choices, it helps to have some guidance so that you have the best chance for success with your houseplants. With this in mind, we have come up with a simple sticker system to let you know what kind of light each plant requires. There are banners posted in the houseplant area that give detailed descriptions for each category of plant, and as always we have a great team of experts on hand to answer any further questions you may have.
Orchids
Orchids are the single most popular variety of houseplant in the world, and B.B. Barns has one of the best selections of these tropical treasures anywhere. Our team of experts has tons of knowledge about these plants, and is ready to share their expertise with you. Bonsai
While not necessarily tropical, bonsai plants offer us a glimpse in to the union of horticulture and artistry. There are several staff members at B.B. Barns who are experienced bonsai practitioners, and can share their knowledge with you. We carry bonsai pots in a wide range of sizes, traditional tools for proper care of your plants, and a wide selection of plants ready to be grown in a bonsai style. We also have finished bonsai specimen, if you want to get started with a plant that is already in a particular form.
And don't forget, bonsai is a journey you take with your plant. Nearly any plant can be fashioned and displayed in bonsai form. While you're in the store don't forget to check out our tree and shrub collection for small plants that could be used for outdoor bonsai cultivation.
Cacti & Succulents
When it comes to easy care, cacti and succulents are great choices for houseplants. While they do require bright light for the most part, they tend to grow slowly and require little watering. Forget to set up an irrigation drip when you go out of town? This is no problem with cacti and succulents. Another benefit is that succulents can be planted in tight spaces, with lots of other individual plants, making them a great choice for dish gardens and terrarium gardening.
