FAQs

Show or hide the answer How much does a design cost?

Depending upon your property and the extent of your area, a design can cost $300 and up. Once a designer reviews the scope of the project, a more exact estimate can be given to the client. The final price for a design is figured based on actual time spent on your drawing. Clients can then use that design to phase in landscape during optimum planting months.

Show or hide the answer How long does a design take to complete?

B.B. Barns Landscape would encourage you to call months before your date of desired completion. During peak Spring and Fall planting seasons, our landscape designers may have a slower turn around time on designs than anticipated. Our ideal time frame from initial consultation to design presentation to you is 4 to 6 weeks and is again based on seasonality and the scope of the design.

Show or hide the answer How much does installation cost?

Installation costs vary widely due to the varying desired outcome of our clientèle. Cost variations can be based on equipment needed to place large ball and burlap trees/shrubs, grading and erosion issues, the ease of getting our people and equipment to the site, the size of the plant materials and the content of the soil where roots systems and rock are present. In addition, we are glad to present your plan to home owner associations and design review committees for an hourly charge.

Show or hide the answer How long does installation take to complete?

The time line for installation is based on the property terrain, accessibility, size of the installation and Mother Nature. Installations are weather dependant and can often times push an installation into the next week. Weather can also wash away markings for underground lines and having those remarked may take an additional day or two. We ask for your flexibility and patience! When quoting an installation time frame we like to say "the week of" instead of a specific date. Based on ideal weather and installation size the time frame can range one to ten days; however, we try our best to work within your schedule.

Show or hide the answer Do I need to be home during the installation phase?

No, we try to have all questions answered beforehand. However, if you plan to be gone for an extended length of time after installation an irrigation system, water bags or arrangements to have someone water in your absence is recommended and hinges upon the success of your investment. Our staff will determine if customer neglect or acts of God are apparent; if so the plant material warranty for replacement is null and void. Please note: thorough watering is the key to protecting your landscape investment.

Show or hide the answer How do I know how to take care of the different plants?

Upon final walk through of your landscape installation, the Project Manager will be give you a care guide and will be happy to answer any specific questions at that time and in the future.

Show or hide the answer What is the guarantee?

To protect your investment, we offer a one year conditional warranty on plants that we install. Plant material neglect and acts of God are not covered in this warranty, and the cause of damage will be determined by an educated landscape staff member. With any successful landscape installation, proper watering is of the utmost importance. A rain shower may not be sufficient water for a root system trying to establish itself, and a drip irrigation system may be worth considering in order to protect your investment. Our warranty states that we reserve the right to check on your plants through the year. In addition we will fertilize your plants twice, and mulch your beds once during that year. Prices for this maintenance service are discussed with, and approved by each client in order to activate your warranty.
