B.B. Barns Gardens and designs

Here are a few of the gardens we have designed and installed over the years. These gardens range from quaint, cottage-style gardens to expansive formal designs. From low-maintenance gardens to enthusiast gardener's spaces, we can fit your desired level of care.

Kathy Greely's Cottage Style Garden
featured in Southern Living magazine.

GreelyColorBorder_1

From the April, 2008 issue of Southern Living magazine:

“I want an English cottage-style garden,” says the interior designer and avid flower arranger. “I want lots of flowers for cutting--roses, larkspurs, foxgloves, delphiniums, and peonies.” A bounty of blooms arrives on cue from spring through fall. The look perfectly suits her cozy, modest-size home in Waynesville, North Carolina.

GreelyShadeMixHunter Stubbs of B.B. Barns Landscape Company in nearby Arden helped Kathy design the garden and still helps to maintain it. He defines the style as “a grandma’s garden. It has a lot of familiar flowers--including Siberian irises, poppies, and other plants--that are typically passed around.”

The Perennial Garden at the Handmade House at the Biltmore Farms Ramble.

RambleWeb

The Handmade House at The Ramble is a project that represents a unique partnership between HandMade in America, a non-profit coalition of Western North Carolina artists and craftspeople, and Biltmore Farms, one of the region's most respected real estate development firms. Hunter Stubbs of the B.B. Barns Landscape Company was chosen to design and install the perennial garden at the house. We look forward to having a video garden tour of the garden this spring, but in the meantime follow the link below to learn more about this great project.
